How To: Join a Domain (VISTA)
{Students use "ACL" domain & Faculty/Staff use "WSC_Domain" domain}
Criteria: (1) Ensure that your computer is running VISTA Business, Enterprise or Ultimate (VISTA Home Basic and Home Premium will not work); (2) Ensure that you have administrative privileges to your computer; AND (3) Ensure that your computer has a UNIQUE name (the Service Tag or Serial # of your unit can serve this purpose). If your computer name is not unique - you will not be able to add your computer to the domain. Once your computer meets the criteria run the following script by clicking on this link -> Join a Domain(VISTA users) - you will need your WSC Network username and password.
To verify your operating system ("OS") do the following: Click 'Start' Windows button > RIGHT click on 'Computer' > LEFT click on Properties. Remember: You will not be able to join the domain unless your machine meets the above-referenced criteria. {Current supported Windows OS software can be purchased at the IT HelpDesk LRC room 310}
